"My goal with these camps isn't only to give back – I want to create opportunities. My ultimate goal is to create a pipeline from Africa to colleges here in the States. Trust me, these kids have more than enough athletic talent. I've seen it first-hand. They just need the proper coaching, instruction, and resources."

LONDON, United Kingdom — In recent decades it has become more conventional for members of the African diaspora to partake in philanthropy to help the continent. In 2021, U.S. college footballer Ryan Glover launched a football clinic for children in Ghana, with the Kile’s World Foundation. Glover’s football clinic in Ghana is an initiative that Glover has continued to pursue this year and plans to carry on in future years.

Marc Lamont Hill chats with Ryan Mekai Glover, graduate student and UC Berkeley QB football player, about launching a football camp in Ghana alongside his mother Tameka Raymond, and creating the Kile World Foundation, which offers art education to kids.

Kile's World Foundation is: Celebrating young people who transform their thoughts into action or "E-Motion", thus helping others and imploring the world to do the same.
